Local Living Economy

Although Hip Mountain Mama is an online retailer who sells Hip and Natural Products to moms across the country, we are supporters of buying locally whenever you can. In our family we buy food from the farmer's market and belong to a local CSA, Monroe Organic Farms. We also make an effort to support of local businesses.

In Northern Colorado we are lucky to have the Local Living Economy Network. This is a non-profit organization focusing on building a vibrant economy in the Fort Collins and Loveland area. Their primary project is the Be Local Book, which is in its 3rd edition.

Now the Local Living Economy Network is expanding to 5 wintertime markets starting November 22nd. They are also working on a permanent year-round Community Marketplace.

If you live in the Northern Colorado Area be sure to get your copy of the Be Local book and support the local businesses involved in this great project. If you don't live near Fort Collins, CO see if there is a similar project in your area. If there isn't, get some friends together and start one.
