Hemp

The term Hemp refers to the cannabis plant grown specifically for industrial use. The use of hemp dates back many thousands of years. It is a fast growing plant which grows strong fibers with a light environmental impact on the soil. Properly grown hemp has virtually no intoxicating effects when consumed.

Hemp has a relatively short growth cycle of 120 days and is an efficient and economical crop with many uses. Hemp is among one of the most productive and useful plants known with uses including paper, textiles, building materials, food, medicine, paint, detergent, varnish, oil, ink, and fuel. Unlike many crops, hemp can be grown in most locations and climates with only moderate water and fertilizer requirements.

At this time it is illegal to grow Hemp in the United States. The Hemp products produced by companies such as ecolution are imported from Europe, India, and Canada. It is a shame that the US government is so tied up in it's billion dollar war on drugs that it can't see the benefits of Industrial Hemp. Industrial Hemp has a very low THC content and has virtually no intoxicating effect, yet our government is choosing to cut down rain forests for paper and building supplies and allows the contamination of our water supply to coat cotton with pesticides when Industrial Hemp is the answer for our children's future.

Please consider purchasing Hemp Clothing, Rugs, Paper, or other items to support this industry that is providing environmentally conscious products.
